What a wonderful Flower Show we had on a beautiful Saturday afternoon!
The weather was good, we had a very impressive range of entries, a high number of visitors and the teas were excellent:
all the ingredients for a great community event.

In spite of the heat, winds and downpours, the number and quality of entries held up well, gaining appreciative comments from the judges.

In the Vegetables & Fruit and Flower classes overall, Mike Kingsford gained almost half the first prizes and won all the horticultural trophies, although he had to share the Cobden Cup for roses with Glyn Roberts.
His results were the more dominant as the other first prizes in these classes were spread between 12 other contestants.

Competition in the Home Produce classes was keen, with the 14 first prizes being spread over 11 entrants,

In the Handicrafts section so many of the exhibits impressed with their beauty and craftmanship. The 8 first prizes were won by different exhibitors, with the exception of Lottie Clayton-Roberts who gained first in two of the photographic classes, helping her to win the Handicrafts trophy, as well as the Paxtons Cup for Juniors.

As usual, there was a large number of visitors, many of whom enjoyed a coffee or tea with delicious home-made cake in a very enjoyable atmosphere.
